Work Description

The Environmental Enforcement Section is the largest litigating section of the Department of Justice. With 160 attorneys, EES has responsibility for representing the United States in federal civil enforcement of all major environmental statutes including, CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act. While the EPA is the section's primary client agency the office also handles work on behalf of NOAA, the Departments of Interior and Agriculture and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Preference is given to students with excellent academic backgrounds who have completed courses in environmental and administrative law. Relevant employment experience is looked upon favorably.
