Work Description

Description of work : The North Carolina General Assembly Research Division is a non-partisan staff division of the Legislative Services Office. The Research Division provides legal and other professional staff assistance to legislative standing committees, study committees, and members of the General Assembly.

The law student extern will work with attorneys and professional staff of the Division to provide legal and other research support for members of the General Assembly. The law student extern will conduct legal and general research by contacting state agencies, other state legislatures and private groups, as well as using the Internet and library resources.

Requirements: An applicant must be a rising second or rising third year law student in good standing and enrolled in an approved externship program. Applicants must also have a demonstrated interest in public service.
