Work Description

Summer ONLY

Our agency provides legal representation to children who are, due to allegations of abuse and neglect, in the legal custody of the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.

  1. Legal research
  2. Assisting attorneys with court appearances and court preparation
  3. Analyzing proposed court system initiatives, and briefing court system stakeholders on analysis and findings.

Practice Certificate not required.

Course work preferred but not required: civil procedure, evidence, trial advocacy.

Skills/experience preferred but not required: previous work/experience in team environment, experience working with volunteers; experience working with children and/or families.
