We are seeking a third year law student (or a spring 2L) for an externship to assist the Intellectual Property Legal Department through the completion of assigned projects, such as the below:

Review Intellectual Property agreements for key terms and create summary index referenceable by attorneys

Assist in review of documents from acquired companies for categorization and integration into legal management system

Review outside counsel procedures for efficiency, effectiveness and thoroughness to provide recommendations for improvement

Investigate and consolidate ‘best practices’ points and legal standards for patenting and trademarking in key market countries and under key treaties

Assess and document patent family priority relationships within corporate patent portfolio

Research and create reference document containing best practices, relevant case law, and current U.S. FDA regulations for product labeling claims and Good Manufacturing Practices

Interested candidates should submit the following for consideration:

                Resume including relevant coursework and current GPA

                Externship application with student’s practice area interests

                Schedule availability

                Patent experience preferred but not required, IP course preferred
