Work Description


DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION: The SBTDC functions as a statewide business and technology extension service providing business counseling and educational services to small and medium-sized businesses. Significant efforts are committed to serving emerging technology-based firms and high-growth potential companies. The SBTDC serves 650 to 700 clients each year in the RTP area.

DESCRIPTION OF STUDENT WORK/PROJECTS: All externs complete at least one detailed legal audit of a business. Additional projects may arise from the legal audit. To the extent possible, the SBTDC attempts to find other projects which match the extern's future career interests.

COURSE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES FOR STUDENT: Up to four students per semester. Third year law certification is not required.
