Work Description

DESCRIPTIONS OF ORGANIZATION: GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading researched-based pharmaceutical companies with substantial presence and operation in Research Triangle Park.

DESCRIPTION OF STUDENT WORK/PROJECTS: Students will work with GSK Trademark attorneys to conduct online trademark screening searches; prepare trademark applications; research and draft responses to trademark Office Actions; research and draft memorandum on copyright issues; and draft permission and denial letters to third party requests for Copyright permission. Students may also communicate with internal clients and third party requesters concerning copyright issues, and with international Local Operating Companies to gather evidence in support of non-U.S. trademark conflicts.

COURSE OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES FOR STUDENT: Students must have demonstrated interest in Trademark and Copyright law. Prefer students to have taken or be taking Intellectual Property, Trademark and/or Copyright law.
