Work Description

DESCRIPTIONS OF ORGANIZATION: Commission of Banks regulates: banks and bank holding companies and ensures the safe conduct of banking business; customer finance through the supervision of loans; refund anticipation loans; registration of mortgage bankers and brokers; money transmitters; reverse mortgages; trust licenses; check-cashing businesses.

DESCRIPTION OF STUDENT WORK/PROJECTS: Work on proposed revision of the NC International Banking Act (Article 18A) to include surveying foreign banks, identifying charters, and identifying differences between foreign and federal government banks.

COURSE OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES FOR STUDENT: Banking Law Course is required before applying to this site. Prefer a student that has a completion of contracts, corporations, and UCC course(s). Be self-directed, independent worker and a self-starter. Certification is not necessary.
