The Career Development Office uses the online software Symplicity to manage job listings (internship, summer, and permanent), on-campus interviewing, off-campus interview programs, and other recruiting events. The CDO maintains a password-protected Alumni Career Development webpage to provide Carolina Law alumni with access to additional relevant resources after graduation. Resources are available on the Alumni Career Development page include alumni-specific tools related to resumes, cover letters, the job search, interviewing, and more. Contact the Career Development Office at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain the username and password.
Alumni may utilize career counseling services offered by the Career Development Office via appointment at any time. Counseling is available on all aspects of the career planning and job search process (defining goals, finding leads, setting up and conducting networking and informational interviews, resume and cover letter preparation, interview preparation, assessing options). The CDO also schedules 1-hour mock interview appointments to help alumni enhance their interview skills. Two CDO counselors facilitate the mock interview, which consists of 30 minutes of questions and 30 minutes of analysis/critique. Mock interviews can be used to prepare for a specific interview or to receive general feedback on interview skills. Alumni can call the CDO (919.962.8102) to schedule in-person, phone, or Skype career counseling or mock interview appointments.
