Law Alumni Association Board of Directors Meeting: Breakout Session - April 12, 2013 All Carolina Law alumni are members of the Carolina Law Alumni Association. The Alumni Association is governed by a board of directors which consists of representatives from 14 geographic regions within the state of North Carolina, as well as members from Atlanta, Birmingham, Ala., Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. The association sponsors an annual Law Alumni Weekend as well as other events throughout the country. Many endowed scholarships, awarded on the basis of superior academic performance and demonstrated need, have also been established through the generous resources of the Law Alumni Association. Who Are Carolina Law Alumni? Carolina Law's 10,000+ graduates have become distinguished educators, honored judges, leaders in business, outstanding practitioners and leaders in government -- including members of Congress, counsel to government agencies and hundreds of state and local elected officials. A majority of the school's graduates practice law in North Carolina, but alumni are found in all 50 states and in 15 countries, with large concentrations in New York, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Forty percent of all attorneys practicing in North Carolina are Carolina Law graduates.
