On April 10, we will be rallying Tar Heels across the world to participate in GiveUNC — much of which will happen online and on social media.

Email Template

Not on social media? You can reach out to classmates or friends with a personal email. Below is an example of an email you can personalize to encourage fellow alumni and friends to join you.

Dear friend's name,

On Tuesday, April 10, Tar Heels from around the globe will come together in support of Carolina Law as part of the GiveUNC 24-hour online giving campaign. Our law school aspires to raise $100,000 in only 24 hours, which is equivalent to over 8 new scholarship packages!

I invite you to join me in making a gift to support GiveUNC. Several challenge matches offered by Carolina Law alumni will be available to double the impact of our gifts, offering an incredible opportunity to leverage our gifts.

Contributions of any size and to any area of the School of Law count as part of the campaign totals. Visit and select the School of Law to make your gift and track campaign progress throughout the day.

I hope you will consider lending your support to this exciting campaign.

Sharing YOUR OWN "What Are You For?" Photo/Video

We also encourage you to record your own "What Are You For?" video and share it on your personal social media accounts! Sharing your personal story will help connect you to your friends, family and donor prospects, and you can encourage them to share their own story as well. Upload your video and share with a message like the one below.

  • As a [STUDENT/EMPLOYEE/ALUM], Carolina Law gave me [WHAT YOU ARE FOR].
Making sure future Tar Heels have that same opportunity is what I’m for at UNC.
    What are YOU for? #UNCForAll

Profile Pictures and Cover Photos

The first thing you should do to get your channels ready for GiveUNC is change your profile picture and cover photos on your school/unit pages. Plan on changing the cover/profile pictures on Friday, April 6 or Monday, April 9, to give your audiences a hint of what is to come, or on the morning of Tuesday, April 10.

Facebook Frame

Looking for something to do on your personal Facebook page to celebrate GiveUNC? Add a frame to your profile picture! Visit and search for “Carolina Development” — that is the name of the page that owns the frame. Choose our GiveUNC frame and share your new profile picture to promote the day, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Thank you!
