Alumni Spotlights
Congratulations to the Class of 2018
The Class of 2018 crossed the stage of Carmichael
Arena on Saturday as they joined their 11,000+ peers as graduates of UNC
School of Law. UNC Law Alumni Association president Scott Vaughn ’86 welcomed
the graduating class to the Law Alumni Association.
“This class understands the concept of paying it forward,” Vaughn
said in his Commencement address. “You have been incredibly generous in
donating to the 3L
Class Gift Endowment Fund to allow Carolina Law to remain a powerful public
institution. You have also given of your time with the first ever 100%
class participation in pro bono service projects.”

Event Highlights
This summer, connect with fellow alumni and current students
working in your region and hear our faculty speak about current legal issues
related to their research at one of seven “Hot Topics in the Law” programs!
Our programs thrive on the prominent presence of our alumni
to provide advice and support to 1L and 2L summer associates and help the law
school recruit the incoming class of 2021. We hope that you will join us for
this informative presentation, and to show your support for Carolina Law.

Advancement Office Update
Farewell to Carolina Law Legend
After 16 years of dedicated service to UNC School of Law, Louise Harris has accepted a new position. During her time at Carolina Law, Louise made
significant and long-lasting impact through her work with alumni and friends of
the law school. From building a robust alumni relations program in partnership
with the UNC Law Alumni Association, to laying the groundwork for the $75
million Campaign for Carolina, her footprint at the law school is significant.
Louise will remain in our legal community, and continue to
work on behalf of the State of North Carolina. She begins her new position at
the North Carolina Bar Foundation in June and will be at the North Carolina Bar
Association Annual Meeting June 21-24 at the Wilmington Convention Center.
Congratulations and well wishes may be sent to law_alumni@unc.edu to be forwarded to
Louise.
