A Taste of Chapel Hill/Carrboro Walking Tour ($40)

Meet at 1:30 p.m. in front of Open Eye Café
1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Take a stroll down memory lane and explore your college town's best restaurants on this walking tour through the streets of Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Meet at 1:30 in front of Open Eye Café in Carrboro (101 S. Greensboro Street) and then head to Neal's Deli, Acme, Al's Burger Shack, Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe, Kipos, and then back to Open Eye Café. Along the way you will meet the chefs, learn about the culinary landscape of downtown and enjoy a sampling of delicious food and drinks.

Carolina Law Leadership and Awards Dinner ($75)

This annual event, hosted by the Law Alumni Association, unites faculty members, student leaders and fellow alumni at a dinner and program celebrating the successes of our school and honoring the UNC School of Law alumni award recipients.

This year the Law Alumni Association is proud to honor Sarah Parker '69 with the Lifetime Achievement Award, John Charles "Jack" Boger '74 with the he Distinguished Alumni Award and Chris Brook '05 with the Outstanding Recent Graduate Award. Make Earning CLE a Part of Your Reunion Weekend (no charge)

Come back to law school, if only for one hour. Join fellow alumni for a class at the law school. John M. Conley, William Rand Kenan Jr. Professor of Law, will present a one hour CLE. His overview on privacy law will be both interesting and timely.

Prior to joining the UNC law faculty in 1983, Conley practiced law in Boston and in Charlotte, North Carolina for six years, specializing in civil litigation. He is also of counsel to the Charlotte firm of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson. Conley earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a J.D. and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Duke University. He also served as an adjunct professor at Boston College Law School. His principal research and teaching are law and social science and intellectual property law.

*Approval pending with the N.C. State Bar. Out-of-state participants will be provided instructions for submitting with their local Bar.

Given by John Charles Boger '74, Dean and Wade Edwards Distinguished Professor of Law. If you have not yet had the opportunity to hear Dean Boger speak, then you should plan on attending. If you have heard him, then you know this is an event not to be missed. At once informational and inspirational, this year's State of the School address will also be Dean Boger's last, and a chance to wish him well.

Carolina Law Family Picnic and Concert Under the Tent ($15)*

Join fellow alumni, faculty, students, friends and family for a picnic at the law school. with hot food off the grill, entertainment for the kids, and a concert under the tent.

The Law Alumni Association is pleased to be featuring Underhill Rose as this year's concert under the tent. This talented and upcoming female country soul trio out of Asheville, N.C. makes music from the heart, drawing inspiration from life-long listening to folk, old country, and rhythm and blues.

Parking - Limited parking will be available at the law school. Overflow parking will be available at the Hwy. 54 (Raleigh Road) lot.

*At the request of alumni, the option to sponsor a current student's participation in the Family Picnic has been added. Please consider an additional $15 in your registration fee that will cover the lunch of a future Carolina Law alum.

The Carolina Inn (1:45 – 2:15 p.m.) There is no place quite like the Carolina Inn in the spring time. Enjoy a beverage on Carolina’s front porch and take a moment to enjoy the scenery (cash bar).

Old Well (2:15 – 2:30 p.m.) Stroll over to the Old Well, one of UNC's most treasured landmarks and the visual symbol of the University. Tradition says a sip from the Old Well on the first day of classes could bring good luck in the coming year. For Reunion attendees, it could provide a flood of memories and a great photo opportunity.

Top of the Hill Restaurant (2:30 – 3:00 p.m.) Take the elevator to the Top of the Hill and enjoy a beverage (cash bar) and a nibble at what has become the living room for Tar Heels. Carolina Law alumnus, Scott Maitland '95, proprietor, offers great cuisine and unique beverages for Tar Heels of all ages. Enjoy the view from the balcony at Top of the Hill while soaking up the Carolina sunshine.

Sugarland Bakery (3:00 – 3:30 p.m.) If you have a sweet tooth, it can be filled at Sugarland! Carolina Law alumni are invited in for a signature a cupcake, pastry, or gelato. Once you get your treat, don’t forget to swing by one of Carolina’s favorite merchandise shops: Chapel Hill Sportswear, Johnny T-Shirt, or the Shrunken Head.

Documentary Viewing: "Generation of Change: Bill Friday,
Terry Sanford, and North Carolina from the 1920s-1972,” (no charge)

Join us for a viewing of the documentary highlighting the storied careers of North Carolina leaders and UNC School of Law alumni Bill Friday ’48, Terry Sanford ’46 and William Aycock ’48, among others.

“A Generation of Change: Bill Friday, Terry Sanford, and North Carolina from the 1920s-1972,” written and directed by Durham, N.C., filmmaker Steve Channing, celebrates the public contributions of a group of North Carolinians, most of whom were members of the same study group at UNC School of Law. Gene R. Nichol, Boyd Tinsley Distinguished Professor of Law, served as executive producer of the film.

The documentary covers the span of time from their youth in the 1920s to the election in 1972 and the birth of the two-party state in North Carolina.

Carolina Law Reunion Weekend Class Celebrations ($25)

We are bringing down the florescent lights and hosting a reception in the space many of you once thought was only for studying or grabbing a quick lunch. Not to be missed, this celebration is the best time to catch up with your former classmates as well as others in the Carolina Law community.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided as well as place to meet up with your classmates. Wear your dancing shoes, come hungry and help us make this a weekend to remember. A list of local hot spots and taxi services will be provided for those who want to continue the fun after our reception has ended.
