Life as In-House Counsel Panel Event for All Class Years

The Transactional and Corporate Law Association and the Career Development Office are co-sponsoring an in-house counsel panel event.

1Ls, 2Ls and 3Ls: Considering applying for summer or permanent in-house positions? Want to learn more about the in-house practice setting? Looking for tips regarding how to prepare for your interviews? Have no idea about the day to day lives of attorneys working in the law departments of corporations departments? Even though the majority of in-house positions require some prior legal experience, there are a growing number of corporation who hire summer interns. It is very helpful to gain knowledge early on to determine whether working in-house might appeal to you, and what steps you can take to make yourself a more attractive candidate for an in-house practice.

Panel participants include: Ken Hammer, Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer of Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions; Kimberly Maney, Assistant General Counsel GlaxoSmithKline; Atinuke Diver, Director of Compliance, PowerAmerica Institute @ NC State University; and Marvin Genzer, Association of Corporate Counsel and a former General Counsel.
