Summer Success for 2Ls: How to Seal the Deal and Get an Offer

Moderated by Prof. Rachel Gurvich and Shawn McKenna, this panel will pull the curtain back to reveal what you need to succeed as a summer associate at a law firm.  A panel including a recruiting manager, a young associate, a hiring partner, and a managing partner will share their experience with the law firm summer associate model of hiring.  They will answer questions including:

  • Was your “fit” with the office obvious or did you have to “warm up” to the people?
  • What happens in a hiring committee meeting? What is discussed?
  • How can summer associates distinguish themselves and succeed in getting a permanent offer (both in terms of specific skills and more general attitudes/habits)?
  • Are there any behaviors or attitudes that will guarantee an offer is not made (beyond the obvious, i.e., showing up in infamy on Above the Law)?

Join us to learn how to turn your summer job into a permanent one! RSVP in Symplicity.
