Rumpus Room 3000

The Christian legal Society will be hosting former Congressman Mike McIntyre in the Rumpus Room for lunch and conversation about faith and the law. Congressman McIntyre served as a United States Representative for the Seventh Congressional District for 18 years, 1997 to 2015. A Morehead Scholar at UNC, Congressman McIntyre graduated Phi Beta Kappa as a political science major in 1978 and received his Juris Doctor from UNC in 1981. While at UNC Law, Congressman McIntyre served as the President of the Christian Legal Society.
Prior to being elected to Congress in 1996, Congressman McIntyre practiced law for 15 years and managed his own firm. Congressman McIntyre is now a partner at Poyner Spruill in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving as Senior Advisor and Director of Government Relations.
In addition to practicing law, Congressman McIntyre is actively involved in the community and is a strong man of faith. Congressman McIntyre, along with Justice Willis Whichard, founded the McIntyre-Whichard Legal Fellows Mentorship Program, which has been a huge success and looks to continue to grow for years to come.
