Summer 2019 Diversity Opportunities Information Session for 1Ls - Off-Campus Interview Programs for Summer 2019 Positions Across the Country

Come learn about the Southeastern Minority Job Fair (SEMJF) , the largest and most successful off-campus interview program that targets minority students. Law schools in the southeast, and employers from across the country, participate in this job fair which will be held in Atlanta in late July to interview students for summer 2019 positions. Registration for SEMJF through Carolina Law's Symplicity will open on Thursday March 29. This program is very popular with Carolina Law students. We will discuss important dates, as well as the guidelines and procedures for this program. 2Ls and 3Ls who have participated in SEMJF will be in attendance to share their experiences.

In addition, information about a number of other diversity off-campus interview programs will be covered. Among these programs are those that target and/or encourage students from a variety of different backgrounds to participate, including ethnic and racial minorities, LGBT students, disabled students and women. Employers who participate in SEMJF, and many of the other diversity programs, are from a wide range of practice settings including law firms, government agencies, corporations and public defenders' offices. Diversity off-campus interview programs are an excellent supplement to Fall OCIs. Resister in Symplicity for the CDO’s diversity information session.
