Tax season is upon us and UNC VITA is looking for students who are interested in serving as volunteers with our organization to help local community members file their taxes.
If you are interested in earning Pro Bono hours, while also gaining valuable skills in client interviewing and counseling, then please come by for a short informational meeting to learn about our organization and how you can get involved.
The VITA chapter of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law seeks to provide free income tax assistance to low and middle-income taxpayers in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, North Carolina.
Our membership is open to all faculty and students who wish to participate. To prepare tax returns, members are required to pass the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) certification tests. Students may sign up for volunteering on My Carolina Law after Volunteer Orientation from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Kenan Center, Room 204 at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. RSVP here for the Volunteer Orientation.
To be added to the VITA listserv please fill out our Volunteer Information Form or contact
