The UNC-CH student chapter of AcademyHealth is excited to bring Jeanne Lambrew, a Gillings alumna who has spent her career working on health reform and increasing access to health care for Americans, to UNC to speak at our annual Health Policy Day conference on Friday, February 16 th  at 8:30 am. Her keynote topic will be Securing and Defending Health Coverage . Students, faculty and staff from all departments across SPH and the broader UNC community are invited to join in on the discussion.
Following will be a panel on health equity, social determinants of health, and NC's value based payment reform  featuring:
  • Ciara Zachary, policy analyst at the NC Justice Center
  • Melanie Phelps, JD from the NC Medical Socity
  • Kelly Kimple, MD, MPH, Section Chief of the NC DHHS Women’s and Children’s Health Section.
The morning will end with an interactive policy workshop focusing on current state health policy issues , facilitated by Rebecca Slifkin, PhD and professor in Health Policy and Management, with help from our panelists.
