Students interested in a career as a public defender may also be interested to learn how to practice criminal law in a small private practice. Join us for a panel of criminal lawyers who practice in a small or solo setting and who will share nuts-and-bolts information about private criminal practice.
The PD Mentor Project aims to provide law students interested in public defense with a source of information and support, an established link to relevant faculty, and a means of identifying other students with similar interests and aspirations. The Project also connects UNC Law students with North Carolina's public defenders and with UNC Law alumni working in PD offices nationwide.
Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Professor Tamar Birckhead at tbirckhe@email.unc.edu; 962-6107; or stop by the clinical suite (office #3059) and speak with her in person.
