Want to meet practicing attorneys from an array of IP fields? Come to CIPLA's IP Career Night on Tuesday, November 12 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the hallway near CDO. This is an opportunity to explore various career paths in IP, network with local attorneys, and enjoy some free food. Attorneys will be available to provide insight into careers involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, technology transfer, litigation, media law, and much more, all within the context of large and small law firms, biotechnology corporations, non-profits, and universities. With more additions added to the list daily, there are currently about 20 attorneys attending representing the following firms, companies, and universities:

  • Myers Bigel
  • Jenkins Wilson Taylor and Hunt
  • Williams Mullen
  • NK Patent Law
  • Brooks Pierce
  • Coates and Bennett
  • Olive and Olive
  • Ward and Smith
  • Moore and Van Allen
  • RTI International
  • Glaxo Smith Kline
  • UNC IP professors
  • UNC Office of Technology and Development
  • NC State Small Business and Technology Development Center

There is no dress code, but as you will have the chance to talk 1 on 1 with multiple professionals, we suggest business casual. This is CIPLA's biggest networking event, so mark your calendars! As these attorneys are taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us, please do them the courtesy of leaving your resumes at home. You can RSVP at http://ipcareernight2013.eventbrite.com/. While an RSVP is not required to attend, it does help us better plan for the event...so please do RSVP if you intend on coming.
