Interested in serving as in-house counsel at some point in your career? Do you find start-up business and venture capital intriguing? Come learn about opportunities to participate in the start-up stages of companies created to commercialize the innovations and inventions of UNC faculty. Lunch will be provided.

Carolina KickStart (CKS) is a core program of the NC Translational and Clinical Sciences (TraCS) Institute. The program was developed to provide support for faculty in commercializing biomedical technologies through startup generation.

Specific objectives include:

  • Educate faculty and students on how to commercialize technology through company formation
  • Fund promising technologies and emerging companies through a grant program
  • Connect faculty with outside resources that can provide services, advice, funding, and management expertise
  • Create incubation services and expertise to early-stage companies.
