The School of Law offers a Public Interest Peer Mentor Program that matches first-year students interested in public interest work with like-minded second- and third-year students. Students are matched up based on practice areas of interest, among other factors.
Mentors meet with their mentees on an individual basis throughout the year and serve as a resource to help with the transition to law school, share experiences and answer questions about public interest careers. The program also schedules a variety of group social activities each year, including the Annual Chili Dinner, brown bag lunches, a spring picnic and other events.
First-year students who wish to participate in the peer mentor program should fill out the Public Interest Peer Mentee application.
Upperclass students interested in serving as public interest peer mentors should fill out the Public Interest Peer Mentor application.
