A Look at Our Students

Diverse 1Ls Secure Sought-After Summer Positions

Class of 2018

The Class of 2018 distinguished itself in the competition for highly sought after positions in several private and public sector diversity programs nationwide.

This year, Carolina Law 1Ls secured six of the seven available positions in the 2016 Charlotte Legal Diversity Clerkship program, four of five spots in the Moore & Van Allen Spring Break Fellowship program, one of two spots in the Williams Mullen Diversity Fellowship program as well as a spot in the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice program. Three students were selected to participate in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession 1L Summer Associate Program while others were selected for 1L summer programs with the U.S Department of Transportation and the legal department of Credit Suisse.

In partnership with the Duke Energy Foundation, UNC School of Law announced that the Center for Law, Environment, Adaptation and Resources (CLEAR) is now the UNC School of Law Center for Climate, Energy, Environment and Economics (CE3). The new name reflects the center’s expanded mission to become the nation’s first law and policy center specifically devoted to the intersection of climate, energy law, environmental law and economic development.
