Each year summer grants are awarded to students who are taking unpaid summer public interest and public sector jobs. Funding for these grants comes from several sources.
In 2017, over $146,000 was awarded to students from law school and student-raised funds. There were 54 first- and second-year students who received funding; 39 received the maximum award of $3,000. Grant recipients worked in nonprofit organizations, legal aid offices, state and federal government agencies, public defender offices, and district attorneys' offices across 7 states and one international placement.
The early decision process for 2018 Summer Grants will open on Monday, October 23rd. The Spring 2018 Summer Grant application period will open up Wednesday, February 14, 2018. To find out detailed information about the early decision application process, please visit here to view a CDO Career Cast.
