Brian Lewis is Assistant Dean for Career Services. His extensive professional experience includes positions in career services at the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City, the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, and, most recently, William & Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia. A long-time member of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), Brian has served on the NALP Board of Directors, and has chaired or served on NALP's Nominating Committee, Judicial Clerkship Working Group, Bylaws Committee, and Recruitment Practices Committee, among others. He has been a presenter at national and regional conferences, and contributed a chapter to Perspectives on Career Services, published by NALP in 2004. He has run numerous off-campus job fairs for law students in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC. Brian has a BGS and an MA in Counselor Education from the University of Iowa.

Maria came to Carolina's Career Service Office in January 2005. She counsels students and alumni on all aspects of job searching and career development. She is especially interested in working with students who plan to work in small and medium sized firms in North Carolina, students and alumni thinking about alternative careers, women's career issues, and working with those who are members of groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession.

Maria graduated from UNC Law School in 1982, and has worked in the Triangle area ever since, including serving as a staff attorney at the NC Court of Appeals, practicing with small firms in Raleigh and Durham, and at the Office of Career Services at Duke Law School and as a Legal Writing instructor there. She is a past president of the NC Association of Women Attorneys and is currently on the Board of Directors of NC LEAF, on the board of the NC Gay Advocacy Legal Alliance, and is a member of the NC Bar Association's Minorities in the Profession Committee. She co-chaired that committee's Summer Associates Program in 2008-09. In addition to her law degree, Maria has a BA from the University of Virginia and an MA from Duke, both in English literature. She and her husband, Durham attorney Dan Read, have two children, one a 2009 graduate of Chapel Hill, and one an undergraduate.  In her spare time she is an avid reader, creative writer, and enthusiastic cook.

Lynn started with Career Services in November of 2006. She counsels students and alumni on all aspects of job searching and career development, with a particular interest in issues of diversity, positions as in-house counsel, and intellectual property law.

Lynn relocated to North Carolina from Chicago after an accomplished career at Sears, Roebuck and Co. where she managed the company's Intellectual Property Group. She also did a stint at EPA's regional office in Atlanta, was Of Counsel at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City, and clerked on the Illinois Appellate Court. Lynn is a graduate of Oberlin College and Georgetown University Law Center. She is a member of the NC Bar Association's Minorities in the Profession Committee, has extensive mentoring experience with junior lawyers and has shown a special commitment to minority law students and lawyers.

Shawn spent fifteen years in Washington, D.C. prior to moving to North Carolina in 2008. He came to Carolina's Career Services Office in 2010 and serves as the Director of Employer Outreach. He focuses on cultivating, establishing, expanding, and maintaining relationships with legal employers and helping facilitate employment opportunities for UNC School of Law students and alumni.

Upon graduation from law school, Shawn served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Melvin R. Wright, Associate Judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He then worked for a small Washington, DC real estate firm before working for First American Title Insurance Company where he assisted clients with the creation and conversion of condominium projects and residential and commercial transactions. After his move to North Carolina, Shawn practiced with Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc. as a staff attorney in the Durham office. From there he accepted a position as Director of Legal Recruitment with the Career Services Office of the North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Shawn is a graduate of the Industrial and Labor Relations School at Cornell University and The George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and North Carolina. His outside interests include travel, the wines of South Africa, and playing tennis and squash. He and his partner make their home in Durham, NC.

Ms. Glenn-Pruitt is responsible for managing all aspects of the fall and spring on-campus interviewing programs and off-campus job fairs. She advises students with regard to these programs and other career search issues and provides career management system training sessions for students.

Kala has been at UNC Law for over twenty years, starting out in the Office of Admissions in 1985, then transferring to Career Services in May of 1986. She has an Associate's Degree in Audio Visual Technology from Alamance Community College. Kala served on the board of the Southeastern Minority Job Fair in 1998, 2003 and 2007 and was appointed Southeast Regional Coordinator for the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) in 2002. From  2007-2008, Kala served on the NALP Nominating Committee as the Southeastern Law School Representative.

Mr. Ronan is the Career Service's Office and Judicial Clerkship Coordinator. Primary duties include maintenance of office finances, employment statistics and  management of day-to-day operations. Adam also coordinates and assists rising third-year students with the judicial clerkship application process, including managing the OSCAR online federal clerkship system and J-CAP, Carolina Law's Judicial Clerkship Application Program. Adam came to the CSO in June 2004, earning a BA in History and Art History from UNC-Greensboro and a MA in Historic Preservation. Currently, Adam is pursuing a MA in Landscape Architecture from NC State University.

Lindsay orients students and employers to the CSO's services and schedules counseling appointments. She posts job opportunities on Symplicity and coordinates user registration for students, alumni, and employers. She edits the weekly Career Services newsletter and coordinates the logistical aspects of the office's programs, such as Career Night and guest speakers. Before relocating to North Carolina in 2009, Lindsay worked in student services at a California community college. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo in 2006.
