Center for Banking and Finance

The Center for Banking and Finance was established in July 2000 to sponsor and support the North Carolina Banking Institute continuing legal education program and the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, both of which were founded in 1997. The Center's mission is to support the leadership role played by North Carolina-based financial institutions in the continual evolution of the financial services industry. The Center provides a variety of support to banking lawyers nationwide. This support is focused in three areas:

• The study of legal and policy issues related to banking and finance
• Advancing the teaching of banking and finance
• Sponsoring conferences for professionals
