In March 2010, CLEAR, in conjunction with Duke University School of Law, presented Rob Verchick, EPA Deputy Director of Policy and Gauthier-St. Martins Professor of Environmental Law, Loyola New Orleans Law School. Verchick addressed new federal initiatives in climate change adaptation.
Victor Flatt, who attended the recent climate change conference in Copenhagen, shared his personal experience at the FedEx Global Education Center on January 19, 2010. CLEAR hosted a reception in October 2009 to welcome Annabelle Malins to her new position as Her Majesty's British Consul General for the southeast United States. Malins was appointed in September 2009.
Among her duties as Consul General, Malins will focus on issues of climate change and climate change adaptation. The British Consulate-General and the United Kingdom's diplomatic team will be working with CLEAR on advancing our understanding of adapting to climate change and sharing experiences on how our laws can be utilized to lessen the impacts of climate change in North Carolina, the Southeast and throughout the world.
