L. Katie Bucrek

Bilingual Program Assistant

Education

  • B.B.A., University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (2000)

Katie is originally from Michigan and received her BBA in 2000 from University of Michigan Business School, where she also worked as a Research and Program Assistant during her last year of undergrad, collaborating on research studies for various MBA programs. During her time at Michigan, she also studied abroad in Belgium, and loved every minute of studying in French and meeting people from all different countries. After graduating, she worked as an Office Temp/Interpreter serving as a liaison between Spanish speaking clients and managers/other staff and then as a Market Research Analyst at a company in Michigan. She then went to France to work as an English teacher in public schools as part of a native speaker teaching assistant program. Since she loved living in Europe so much and also met her husband who is from Spain soon after coming back from France, she went to live in Spain (in the region of Galicia). For the past 10 years, she has been living there and working as an English and French teacher, teaching all types of classes from kids to in-company. She just moved to North Carolina this past June to be nearer to family and look for job opportunities and is very happy to have found this one at Carolina Law. She has two children, and also enjoys reading (especially in French and Spanish), traveling, going to classes at the gym, and being in nature.
