He is a double Tar Heel, having graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences and a master's degree in Information Science. He is responsible for all programming and development on the school's websites and also manages the systems that run those sites. For his efforts, Gary received UNC-Chapel Hill Information Technology Awards in April 2008 and April 2010. He also has previously served on the UNC Carolina Technology Consultants Advisory Board (CTC). Recently, he redesigned the websites for both the IT Awards (http://itawards.unc.edu/) and the CTC (http://ctc.unc.edu/).
In his spare time, Gary enjoys running, yard work, baseball, and especially Carolina basketball. He ran in both the 2012 and 2013 Boston Marathons. He also stays busy by chasing his two children (one in preschool, one in second grade) around the house.
