Sally C. Johnson MD is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she works in the UNC Forensic Psychiatry Program and Clinic. In that capacity she conducts criminal and civil forensic evaluations and provides consultation to attorneys, various agencies and the courts. She is involved in teaching and research on various issues arising at the interface of psychiatry and law. Dr. Johnson also maintains adjunct appointments at Duke in both the Department of Psychiatry and the Law School.
Dr. Johnson received her MD from Jefferson Medical College and completed her Psychiatry training at Duke University Medical Center. She served as a physician with the United States Public Health Services, assigned to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she completed career service. In that capacity she developed extensive clinical and administrative experience in Correctional Psychiatry and Medicine and served as an expert witness and consultant to the Federal Courts.
