Before becoming the Assistant Dean for Student Development at the law school, John served as the Director of Student Activities and Director of Student Services from 2007-2011. Prior to returning to work at UNC, John clerked for the Honorable Linda Stephens at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. From 1999 - 2002, John worked as a math teacher at Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina. He enjoys working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty on co-curricular activities.
While not at work, John enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, playing golf, and following (at times fanatically) Carolina athletics. In addition to his work at the law school, John teaches a legal writing class at the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
