UNC School of Law's Center for Law and Government is hosting American civil rights attorney and gay marriage advocate Evan Wolfson to speak about "Why Marriage Matters and What To Do About It" on Monday, Nov. 28, at noon in room 5042 of Van-Hecke Wettach Hall.
Wolfson is founder and executive director of Freedom to Marry, which leads the campaign to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, and is working across the country to educate the public about why marriage matters to same-sex couples and their families. Wolfson also wrote the book Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality, and Gay People's Right to Marry.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held afterwards in the law school's boardroom.
