Broun Wins N.C. Bar Distinguished Service Award

On Nov. 7, the N.C. State Bar presented The John B. McMillan Distinguished Service Award to Kenneth S. Broun, Henry Brandis Professor of Law Emeritus at UNC School of Law. The ceremony was held at the monthly luncheon meeting of the Orange County Bar Association.

This annual award honors current and retired members of the North Carolina State Bar who have demonstrated exemplary service to the legal profession throughout their career. Award criteria includes using professional time and resources to ensure equal access to the legal system; providing professional services at no fee or a reduced fee to persons of limited means; furthering the public's understanding of and confidence in the rule of law and the justice system, and promoting diversity within the legal profession.
