Requirements for Matriculation
Offer Of Admission: Terms and Acceptance Procedures
To reserve your place in the Fall 2009 entering class, you must submit to the School of Law Office of Admissions:
- The completed enrollment deposit card that is in your Admissions Packet
- An initial, non-refundable deposit of $250.00 by Friday, April 17, 2009, payable to the University of North Carolina
- A second non-refundable deposit of $100.00 paid by Monday, June 15, 2009, payable to the University of North Carolina
If your enrollment deposit is not received by the Office of Admission by the due date, then your offer of admission will expire, meaning that we will no longer hold a place for you in our Fall 2009 entering class. The enrollment deposit, although non-refundable, will be applied toward your tuition and fees for Fall 2009. The Office of Admissions will send confirmation regarding the receipt of your enrollment deposits.
Official Transcript Requirement: Condition of Enrollment
Your offer of admission is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of your undergraduate education. Consequently, you will need to submit to the Office of Admissions an official copy of your final transcript mailed by your undergraduate institution directly to the Office of Admissions. This transcript must reflect that a baccalaureate degree was awarded to you. Please wait until your degree is reflected on your transcript before asking your registrar to send us a final copy. We must receive your official final transcript by August 1, 2009. Please note that any transcripts you submitted to the Law School Admissions Council for inclusion in your LSDAS report are insufficient to satisfy this transcript requirement. You will not be allowed to matriculate in the fall, if this transcript requirement is not satisfied. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Required Immunization Record and Medical History Information
By law, it is required that all students entering the University present a certificate of immunization which documents that the student has received the required immunizations. Information regarding this requirement is included in your Admissions Packet. If you are not currently enrolled at The University of North Carolina School of Law, you will have to complete a form and return it and any supplemental materials to the Student Health Service by the beginning of classes.
Students who fail to submit these forms will be academically withdrawn from the University. If you have any questions, please contact Campus Health Services at 919-966-2283 or at
immunizations@unc.edu.
Continuing Obligation to Inform
Please remember that each applicant to the University of North Carolina School of Law has a continuing obligation to notify the Office of Admissions of any and all changes to the information in his or her application-even subsequent to his or her admission to the School of Law. If there are changes in the answers to any question on your application, you should immediately notify the Office of Admissions in writing so that your application file can be updated.
