Applying as a Visiting Student

A student currently enrolled at another law school may apply as a visiting student (non-degree candidate) for the fall and/or spring term by submitting the following:

  • Application for admission. Electronic applications are available at www.lsac.org. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded here.
  • $70 application fee in the form of check or money order, made payable to the UNC School of Law.
  • A letter of good standing from the dean at your current law school.
  • An official transcript, sent directly to the Office of Admissions, reflecting law courses completed and grades received from all law schools attended.
  • A statement of the reason for visiting, in lieu of the personal statement.

We will begin accepting applications for visiting students for fall 2008 on May 1, 2008. The application deadline is June 15, 2008, and grades for courses completed after that date must be submitted to the Office of Admissions as soon as they are available. Admissions decisions are made after mid-July.
