June Pro Bono Update

Summer is a fabulous time for law students to hone skills and gain experience by working in internships and summer associate programs. UNC Law students are exploring career opportunities in various settings all around the country, taking a summer class, or just getting a breather before Fall semester starts.

Professional development is also achieved through student pro bono activity, which continues throughout the summer. For example, students are volunteering with the UNC Center for Civil Rights and the Community Legal Project, a joint effort between Compass Center for Women and Families in Chapel Hill and UNC Law.

As always, if you would like any additional information about the program or the photographs you see here, please feel free to visit our website. Thank you for your continued interest in the Pro Bono Program!

Sincerely,

Amanda Colley

Summer Pro Bono Trip: Wilmington Expunction Clinic

On June 16-18, volunteers from UNC Law travelled to Wilmington, NC, to help conduct an Expunction Clinic in conjunction with Legal Aid of North Carolina. Throughout the trip, seven current UNC Law students volunteered with two UNC Law alumni. Not only were the students able to work directly with clients and attorneys, but they helped draft and file petitions at the courthouse, and made connections with attorneys and alumni.
