Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson interviews Judge Phillips about his contributions to Fourth Circuit jurisprudence.

UNC School of Law hosted the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit Sept. 20. In the law school’s Graham Kenan Courtroom, the court heard oral arguments in two cases. Students and faculty were invited to join the audience, and crowds overflowed into an adjacent classroom, where proceedings were livecast. After the proceedings, the judges and clerks took questions from the audience and held a session for students about the operations of the Court.

The day’s events ended with a reception honoring former law school Dean and Judge J. Dickson Phillips at the Carolina Inn. At the event Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson, current judge on the Fourth Circuit, interviewed Judge Phillips about the inner workings of the Court and his contributions to Fourth Circuit jurisprudence.
